WATER POLO

“Water polo at King Edward VII School has the reputation of an exciting and highly enjoyable competitive sport. Strength, skill, endurance and sound dedication play important roles in order for players to reach their full potential.”

WATER POLO OVERVIEW

This is a relatively new sport to our school and was introduced by the High School to prepare the Grade 7 boys for the high school season.

Historically, water polo has only been a high school sport and the KES. staff would coach our Grade 7 boys in preparation for their entering the high school the following year.

In 2009, we produced our first KEPS. team who played in the S.A.C.S. tournament in Cape Town. We have subsequently played at this tournament each year. Our performance has improved and we have produced some talented water polo players.

There are many challenges set by this physically demanding sport that, when met, maintain a high standard of competitiveness. All coaching staff are knowledgeable and approachable and set high standards of ethics.
